Puma helmet.
« on: December 30, 2014, 01:45:25 PM »

Has anyone tried the Puma helmet? Looks the part and looks comfy enough. The grille position looks like it can't be moved very much but that can be a good thing. Any thoughts?

Had one a few years ago, felt quite sturdy and had the foam inserts to fit your head. Decent lid on a lower budget

One of the guys who desn't play that often for us has one.
Looks to be a decent enough lid, would go nicely with some Puma storm trooper pads!

Yeah I had one. Very good visibility, plus the fact the adjustments for the grill are on the inside means it doesn't snag on nets. However I broke it keeping wicket when i took it off. The strap came off so bought a Masuri to use while it was being fixed. I never went back to the now fixed Puma.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I took the plunge and bought one from PDC. The price drop to 30 quid helped.

Protection and viability look good. Weight is 770 grams which is a good 200 grams lighter than my pump up Arytek with Ti grill.

Indeed the strap looks a little weedy but seems ok.

I bought one of the last ones from PDC, are Puma coming out with another helmet soon or have they stopped with helmets all together?
