Just been looking on Prodirect and I'm interested in the Viper and Midas which seem to offer decent value. Anybody got one, or know what they are like, and also what are prodirect like to deal with?

Can't comment on the two Kooks as not seen them but as for Pro-Direct, I've not had an issue with them but know a number of people have. If ordering a bat, you only have the weight categories to go on - light/med/heavy and there can be a 2-3oz range within each. If you phone them up, they aren't able to tell you the specific weights of bats in stock either, which isn't very helpful. I've bought quite a few items (except bats) from them with no issues apart form one order which was resolved quickly.

The two bats you mention are exclusive to them I believe so it will probably be very difficult to find elsewhere new. The other thing to consider is Pro-direct's buying strategy which tends to be in bulk so while there could be some stunners in there, there could also be some that are very average so it becomes the luck of the draw.

The one thing I would say about Kookaburra though is that all their profiles look very similar across the range with the exception of the bubble

I would be very cautious about buying a bat from Pro Direct due to the reasons mentioned by Maverick. Other gear such as softs and clothes etc.. you should be okay.

You are much better off speaking to one of the forum sponsors who I am sure will be able to sort you out with something with your specific requirements etc...

I bought the Viper from PDC and it was good. I have ordered a few bats from them and they were generally good (may be I got lucky) and as the other posters mentioned, the customer service can tell you if a particular item is in stock or not but specifics.
