Hello guys,

I recently was cleaning up an old bat and found that it had delamination. Having nothing to lose I decided to try and fix the delamination and was very pleased with the outcome considering that this is the first time I ever "refurbed" a bat other than just cleaning it up. The bat plays great now and shows no signs of delamination.

I removed the surface from the delaminated part and sanded it off until my hands hurt (may be I should just get a sander).I guess I got lucky as the delam was at the edge and it was easy enough to sand it off. And as you can see the pic of the broken scissors, I initially tried to remove the delaminated part with it and it just broke into pieces.

Any thoughts/comments/suggestions are most welcome.

My next "Fix Delam" project is going to be a bit tough as the delamination is right in the middle of the bat.

Get a syringe and needle and inject PVA glue between the layers of wood. Clamp and leave. It saves a lot of sanding.

What size syringes do people use? I have some ti y ones that don't suck up the glue very well.

Syringe is about 60mm long and a diameter of about 12mm. I use needles with a green end and it is about 40mm long. I suck the glue into the syringe then put the needle on.
