Knocking in Service
« on: April 12, 2015, 11:37:10 AM »

Hi all. You may have seen on our facebook page, that we now have a fully automatic knocking in machine with a Lignum Vitae mallet head. One of only a few in the country and the only one in Kent.

H4L Bats are only £15. All other bats £25.

No more annoying the neighbors, being nagged at by the wife or aching wrists  ;)

See it in action here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvpY2a1c1Zk - don't know how to embed the video  ???

The knocking in comes with a guaranteed 5000+ knocks, anti-scuff sheet and edge tape. You can order at http://www.h4l.co.uk/index.php/handmade-cricket-bats/cricket-bat-knocking-in.html or drop us a message if you have any questions.

thanks

I hope the machine is located in a sound proof room, can see it getting very annoying very quickly if its running constantly for 8 hours a day  :D . Does someone have to be present at all times it inspect the process or can you walk away and leave it to do its own thing @hell4leather cricket ?

It will always be monitored. We can set the speed, duration and movement of the bat. Key areas such as the toe are also manually controlled.

It is in its own area of the building and we have good ear defenders  ;)

Are these machines off the shelf or custom made?

I think they are off the shelf, I have seen an Indian bat maker with similar machine where it counts the no. of hits.

do you have an edge rounding machine also or does the knocking in machine do this automatically? i realise edge rounding can be done manually...

lastly, how long does the service take to return the bat once received and does it include a face sheet/edge tape or is that extra?

The machine does knock the edges , however I still bone the edges by hand at the moment it's about a 5-7 day turnaround ,face tape and toe guards are extra
