How do I fix this?

Had clamped one of my old bats, and ended up squishing the spine just a bit...I don't think it changes anything other than cosmetics - but is there a way I can unsquish it?

It doesn't show up clearly in pics - but basically the spine now looks like a line connecting three points, instead of a smooth parabolic curve.

Sand it level?
Steam it and then sand it level?

googled parabolic in a vain attempt to assist also and I still  don't  understand the question.

good luck, steam is a good method to manipulate dents

Haha that was the wrong choice of words.. Basically, instead of a smooth spine, it now looks disjointed. Imagine a hill - with the top sliced off.

Exactly - how do I make Table Mountain look less "table-y" ? I didn't add any pics because its not very clear to see in those pics.

Wet it and use a steam iron. Works on all soft timbers. if it's really deep do it in stages. Next time cut a few blocks to fit round the spine of your bat to spread the load of the clamp then put a bit of rubber (a bit of old handle grip) between the block and your bat.
