New bat on the way - the painful wait. They're finally here!
« on: April 15, 2015, 01:06:03 AM »

I ordered a couple of Laver and Wood bats a couple of weeks ago and the wait for them to arrive is painful. I recently organised all my old equipment and I think I'm now up to Laver and Wood number 7 or 8. I've used them exclusively the past 10 or so years and can't imagine using anything different. I love looking at bats from other makers but am not swayed to have anything else. Most of my bats have been Private Bin and a couple of Heritage models originally shaped similar to the Puma Signature then moving towards the more modern Mega type shape.
With our season not long finished I'm looking forward to our preseason where these new sticks can be tested and ready to go for round 1.
Pics to follow when they arrive.

You could always stick some pics of your current bats up. We like pictures  ;)

Hopefully these pictures work.
Whats left of the current collection, puma on the left the remaining are laver and woods. The puma has a broken handle hence no grip as I took it off to check it out. Excuse the mess on the handles of the middle 2, one of the grips perished in storage and stuck to the other handle. I plan on cleaning these up over the winter.

The new sticks have arrived! I'm happy with how they've turned out. Both 2lb 9oz and pick up nicely.

The Legend looks stunning for the grade! From my own experience with Laver, I've found the higher grades do play better than the lower grades. (Reserve>Private Bin>Special Reserve>Legend) Let us know what you find when you begin using the Reserve! :)

The legend does look a cracking bat. I've found with the l&w before that they open up at different rates. I'm sure this is the case with all bats. With the current bats I was using I found the net bat actually opened up a lot quicker than the private bin. But once the private bin was ready it was a fantastic bat.
The mallet suggests that these 2 are pretty similar so I'm looking forward to how they are come the start of the season.

L&W Legend are under rated for their performance. They are bargains. My Legend is a gun bat!
