Another refurb...
« on: May 25, 2015, 06:53:51 PM »

Well I ended up making an offer for the m&h harlequin that Kieron had for sale which resulted in a bar shape parcel arriving a few days later.

After the usual conversation with the wife about how she thought I promised it to buy any more new bats I finally got 30 mins to look her over we today.

I got it to see how a Harrow would compare but too be honest it's bang on ssh dimensions. Virtually identical to a bat I recently had made by john at red ink.

After a tinkle with the sander and a first coat dab of oil this has come up pretty nice. And with one grip and no scuff it's bang on my weight!!!

Before

After

I had tried the hair dryer method on the sticker but it was an epic fail so I taped up the m&h and just went round it.

On the pic the sticker marks are a lot more noticeable than in the flesh but after sanding I did think I had done enough to eliminate them but obviously not.

I always find that sticker marks look darker on camera then in the flesh. Looks a decent bat and a but cleaner with that refurb now, decent job.

I like the small M&H sticker mate.

Looks minimalist and retro, very classy.

Looks a nice bat mate

That minimalist look, looks much better than its previous branding.

Cheers guys. The back has kept the branding but I do have to agree that I think the minimalistic look works.

I am planning on a black vinyl triangle to fill in the splice below and above the m&h... But that's for another day.
