Kookaburra Cadejo- pleasant surprise
« on: July 24, 2015, 02:21:06 PM »

Wednesday's post brought me my first ever Kookaburra bat, the new Cadejo model as (not) used by Michael Carbery!

If I'm honest I was expecting much as I've always tried to stay clear of the big names as a lot of finance goes into advertising/ sponsorship etc leading to less bang for your buck so to speak.

Anyway, I'd just ruined two bats in a week so needed one quick sharp and as I'm new to the forum I don't have access to the kit sales section thingyq :-[ after much debacle I decided on the new Cadejo, although as soon as I ordered it I remembered I wanted a lighter bat so emailed the provider to sort me the lightest me one possible.

I opened the parcel and had a look at the bat.

Stickers, really nice 3 colour design, including a flash chrome that mixed well with the devil red and noir.

It was then onto the scales and I was very surprised to see that the bat came in at around 2.7, weird as they are supposedly only made in 2.10-3lb, still I was delighted.

The pick up is fantastic, it's really light, especially after using a 3lb plus bat.

The shape is very much to my liking with huge edges and a large spine, oval handle, 2 groove con caving at the back and a mid sweet spot that reacts well with the mallet and ball.

I'm still in the process of knocking it in ready for Monday's coaching session, really looking forward to what should be a bat that pings off the large sweet spot.
