Costs of Nets
« on: June 17, 2015, 10:32:12 AM »

I was wondering if anyone could help me out, I've recently joined up with a new club who are trying to get nets installed - they've got a roll on net for the square at present but with the club expanding quite rapidly they're in need of something more permanent to accommodate the additional players.

We're looking at getting a full length 2/3/4 bay net with cage surrounding, I appreciate these are fairly expensive but wondered if anyone else has had one installed at their club? If so, then how much roughly did it set you back?

We're in a lucky position, being close to Central London, that quite substantial sponsorship looks like its going to be fairly easy to come by (especially with a local housing developer having a decent community fund!) so wanted to see what sort of prices people have paid in the past. It's just a thought at the moment so if anyone can help it would be appreciated!

Thanks all,
Adam

Everyones prices are largely similar, but give those guys a ring. We play cricket with them and the service/workmanship etc are second to none :)

They work with all the appropriate fundraising/grants schemes (clubmark, cricket force etc) to help save the club as much as possible, they are also able to assist with fundraising via their partners at 4grants who are fantastic at rustling up grants/sponsorship/donations and sorting the mountain of paperwork that goes with it.

Tell them we sent you :)

agree with Jake's comments most prices are similar it all depends on the service and product they provide.

another company i would recommend are Verde Sports have dealt with them before and where very useful.

we just had a single lane net installed and it cost £9000

Cheaper end of the spectrum - do the groundworks yourself. A 10-12 yard concrete based will do x 2. Buy the matting at approx £500-600 for the budget model x 2 lanes. Then buy a 2 lane version of this:-

I wouldn't expect much change out of £3-4k though, probably more and it helps if you know a builder/landscaper.

We did our own as @uksaunders describes above.  It took a coulpe of mornings work.

The surface is pretty good.  We also have some heavy duty white plastic sheeting around the back and the sides, this works well too.

Are you clubmark accredited? If so there are grants available (some even if you arent i believe - check your local cricket board). A club i played for had a 4 lane net installed about 4-5 years ago and it cost around £40k. They only paid around £10k of it with the rest coming from grants. It was pretty top end with different surfaces for each net
