So, recently whilst I was laid out pretty badly ill, I made the mistake of having twitter, internet access and a bank card accessible, and despite a virus and laryngitis, just about enough energy to browse twitter when a lot of places were advertising their end of season sales (I was taken ill at the start of October and tried to play a weekend ultimate tournament, big mistake!) As such, I noticed a promotion from pro-direct cricket, with the Impulse 950 bat available for £193, and the gloves were available for £33 as well at the time. Because I had wanted the bat, I went all the way and got the bat and gloves (will upload pics of the bat, 8 grains and really responsive), as well as the pads from all-rounder cricket up in Headingley (cheaper than pro-direct for the pads, and they are my uni team kit supplier). I haven't been able to net since being ill due to several other ultimate tournaments, and am unable to net until the new year due to uni ultimate nationals and a GB ultimate trial, so before I take the jump, has anyone had the 950 kit this season, and how has it been? It all feels comfy, and I am very happy with the responsiveness of the bat, but obviously I haven't used it beyond shadow batting and knocking it in.
On a side note, my brother won the AOC fantasy cricket for the Ageas Bowl test, and won a Kahuna 900, which I have run in for him as well as sorting my Impulse and some servicing of my growing collection. His is 2.10, whereas my Impulse is 'light', feels about 2.8 which is excellent. Comparatively, they are a very similar size, and the responsiveness of both is very similar. If I can find pics of the two compared, I will upload them.
So basically, are the Impulse 950 softs good?
Cheers all
