Do opening batsmen have different shoe requirements to middle order players? ;)

The most pertinent post in this thread.

I read the title and thought - "eh?"

When I open the batting I expect a lot of swinging delivers so I need to move well. Ballerina pumps are great for this.

If I am 3 through to 6 I expect alsorts so a good pair of cricket spikes suffice

But when I am 7 down and at the death I expect the Inswinger Yorkers galore.time for the steel low cap rigger boots for that extra protection and added bonus of the ball flying to the boundary if I catch it right.

For a batting shoe in general the Puma evospeed are nice and light, alternatively spike up a pair of trainers, just move those feet if the bowler bowl a yorker ;)

Gel advance series is always a good bet. If you've got an asics outlet shop by yo, you can get the gel advance 5 for about 50 smackers

Maybe but who can make better shoes than Adidas anyway? [emoji14]

after me and some other players at my club wearing adidas, previous experiences are that they aren't actually that good and are not so comfy as something like asics

Not that I would try like, but will the additional material on a cricket shoe provide more protection if you get a toe crushing Yorker?

Most of the international players wear Adidas, if asics r better then why do they prefer Adidas?

England almost all wear Adidas, yes. Australia (almost?) all wear Asics. Guess which company sponsors each team?

In my experience, Adidas even aren't on the same planet as Asics for shoes.

Yes but asics look very cheap apart from 1 or 2 exceptions.
