haven't used either.. was looking into getting either one of them earlier this month.. emailed impala and they have been bought by Enduro Sports and i was quoted $700AUD for their top bat this doesn't include shipping.. I rang Screaming Cat and spoke with Julian and he said his top bat (Professional) would be $625 including delivery and he would knock it and include a pair of gloves.. Would think that getting a bat at a cheaper prices from one of the best batmakers in the world would be a better deal..

From what I understand Imapal's were made by Australia Wide Bat Company and they went bust.. Not sure who makes them now and I think Enduro Sports are just distributors, so they might have a local bat maker working for them since they did give me an option for a custom made bat..

Personally i try not to comment too much on brands i had not used as i would feel i had nothing to base my opinions on other than a difference in price, I've personally used both brands and like them both and will be using screaming cat kit myself again in 2010 season but i still have my Impala.

I never mentioned me using one or that one performs better than the other.. I based my opinion on price alone which i thought was pretty clear in my explanation.. and i was just saying what "I" would do and nothing about the performance of either..

I think alot of people need  to be realistic about some things. Like any bat, not all Screaming Cats are absolute cannons. Hence why Kingsgrove Sports in Sydney stopped selling them after one season. My Mate had one and it was ok, just ok. If you were gonna pay $500 for the Premium off the shelf or whatever, Id get one custom made from Julian at Melbourne and sent to you in OZ... or if your down there get one custom made and go and pick it up. Worth it for 625 compared to a shelf one for 500+

Impala have sold all there machinery to KG Sports, but even KG Sports dont stock them and all GC sell is old stock. So Im not sure whose making Impala now but I doubt the quality from Robin would be that good.

Things to look out for in OZ ... hmmm... Gray Nics are alright. If youve got the $$ the GN Legends are undescribable but by far the best bats Ive ever seen and of the quality I dont think another bat maker in the world sells. The GN Ignites, in all ranges are good bats. All Puma stuff is very good. The softs are the best in australia by far.

That is not true Hads45, I got a bat made today and he was telling me how he used to sell his products to the various cricket shops and they paid him for the stock however he wanted to make the service more personal. But the cricket shops don't like it when a bat maker sells them some bats but also has the option to get a handmade bat by the maker in person. This is because the shops feel like they would possilby be missing out on the better quality willow. So he decided to stop selling bats to the cricketing shops and decided to only make bats by direct contact with him, whether it be in person, by phone or by email.

Also all brands produce bats that arent that crash hot, but thats part of cricket, you can many absolute cannons, but occasionaly there may be a dud amongst them.
