Clubs in the Warrington area
« on: October 25, 2015, 06:50:06 AM »

Hi everyone,

It's looking increasingly more likely I'll move to Warrington with the missus in the next couple of months. Does anyone recommend any friendly clubs in that area?

I don't need to know premier league clubs. I'm in it to have a laugh and attempt (usually poorly) to score runs. Do you know what leagues th she are in? I'm moving from North Wales and it's the only league I know. How would travelling to away matches be?

There are 2 Cheshire leagues - the County league & the TACS league. County league will be closest for you with Warrington, Grappenhall & Runcorn closest clubs. The Sunday league is set geographically so there's less travel but Sat leagues aren't. The CCCL Sat 3XI is going to merge with the 2XI from the TACS league so might find there's more travel

There are 3 leagues, the Cheshire Alliance, being the third. Appleton and Stretton being two I've played at.

3 leagues? Bloomin' 'Eck just to add confusion. I'm guessing the county is the highest standard then working its way down to alliance?

Yep,  about 4 divisions in each, so you should be able to find something you like.

Hi there,
I am at Widnes cc couple of miles from warrington, depending on whereabouts in Warrington you are going to live we may even be closer than Warrington, Grappenhall, Runcorn, Stretton, Appleton & rylands cc's, you would be made more than welcome at Widnes whose first team play in the second division of the Cheshire county league ( the higher of the three leagues) seconds in the second division & the third team play on Sundays in the Liverpool comp. let me know if you need any more info?
Cheers
