Brand New It's Just Cricket Blog!
« on: November 10, 2015, 04:57:33 PM »

Hello all,

As you may have seen on our social media, we have recently started our very own blog (seems to be all the rage on the Forum at the moment!) It incorporates a lot of the LinkedIn posts that I've written, but I'm also taking articles from Amos (our newest employee), and Chris too. It's about cricket equipment, the cricket market in general, and is an attempt to provide an honest, open discussion on the topics above.

People have been on at us for a while to write a blog, following on from our YouTube videos, and so this should be an even easier way to pass away the time at work without the boss noticing! It gives our customers a unique chance to share our experiences and our honest viewpoints in a written form - like the YouTube videos, these articles will be as honest as we always are! I love to write myself, and so that's one of the major reasons we have got this set up - a real passion of mine is writing, so to combine that with the cricket industry, my other major passion, is a real bonus for me!

The blog is also more of a tailor made platform than LinkedIn, with our branding recognisable throughout, so it is, I felt, a more suitable platform for these articles. It is also a good opportunity for us to convey the IJC philosophy, in a fresh and relevant way on social media.

Perhaps most importantly, the blogs contain special discounts which aren't available anywhere else. A little reward for people for getting through my waffle!

Check out the blog here - www.itsjustcricket.news.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul, in your sign-off it should be:

Interesting read, been contemplating the change to a duffle bag for a while.

Amos has written a new article on junior bats, which will go up tomorrow, but I'm currently stumped for the topic of my next one. Can I please have some suggestions?

Two spring to mind. Helmets, particularly in line with the new regs, possibly including the stem guards and is there a point in most club cricketers paying £50 for one.
The other is wicket keeping equipment, as a keeper I tend to find the kit is hidden at the back of a catalogue or not much of a range is carried. So a bit of focus on it would be welcome

How about you do interviews with some of the brands you stock, about what makes their kit special and the usp for each one.

I'd actually like a bit of history, you could tell us how you got into the cricket industry and why perhaps?

Nice site! I like to read the insider type stuff, what difficulties you had in setting up IJC and getting brands on board

First post from our new boy, Amos, here: http://www.itsjustcricket.news/the-junior-cricket-bat-conundrum/

Basically discussing what drives bat purchasing decisions for juniors and whether or not he approves of the reasoning!

Amos is certainly one to keep an eye on.  He's a talented impressionist too...
