AS Player Edition
«
on:
December 24, 2015, 02:48:09 AM »
Hi,
Just want to share few details & pictures of my new AS Player Edition bat.
Specs
Weight: 2lb 11oz (with double grips)
Size: Short Handle
Edge size: 41mm
Spine size: 64 mm
Toe size: 21 mm
Handle: Round with double grips
Pickup: Well balanced, not bottom heavy at all despite having a chunky toe.
The mallet response is good all the way from the toe to the bottom of the sticker. The bat seems like it is hard pressed as the mallet is leaving very minor dents (GN deluxe mallet). I discussed with AS that i need this bat to withstand the cheap balls used in our local T20 league so they might pressed this a little harder than normal.
AS export manager Mr. Tayyab was very responsive on the emails and sent me pictures of few unfinished bats to choose from.
I will post update once i take this bat to nets.
Cost: $190 USD delivered to US.
Cheers
Jawad

Looks very good. For the price especially it is excellent value for money. Top grade willow..nice chunky profile..long sweet spot..all for around 2.11..what else can someone ask for. Look luck with the bat mate.

That does look like value for money. Chunky full profile and nice grains.

@jd163
Thank you for posting this review, great to see your bat.
This looks fantastic, extremely good price as well considering the inflated market nowadays.
AS seem to have improved their bats craftsmanship as for a period they were poor due to demise of their head batmaker few years ago.
How's your bat handle? (from top)
I look forward to more posts from you

@Cover_Drive
the handle is standard. Let me know how your AS vx100 plays with that special handle.. I might get the handle like yours on my next AS bat.
