As has been said, it sounds like your mind has been made up and anything now will only reinforce that. Cut your losses, take Dave's 50 quid and try again with one more suited to you :)

I bought two last year, after the season ended. I have friends who have bought 15000 and SM-18s this year, pre-season. The bats have seen match action and their owners are very happy.
