Counties being dragged kicking and screaming into the real world, but not far enough for me.

Nope have they changed the order these are played yet?

Hate how they play 4day, 4 day, t20, one day, 4 day, one day, one day...  Messes up even the best of players playing like this

Probably not 100% gonna be in a block, but by reading that there may be less cross over. RL50 towards the start of the season, 2 less championship games allowing the t20 to be in the summer period the kids are off. So probably not as clear cut as CC in a block RL50 in a block and t20 in a block but an improvement

Wonder whether second division team will struggle to attract overseas players going forward?

Idiotic idea. Why have another competition that half the counties can't win before a ball is bowled in anger?

Just a browse through of recent winners will tell you that a number of recent winners would not have been in contention due to their performance in the previous season.

The logic is totally baffling.

Anything which has promotion and relegation is good for the standards, means you can't just play, rake in cash and be crap (well you can but you risk relegation)

If we have 2 divisions and promotion relegation. Does that also mean players can move clubs freely?

Or will it be a chance that say any of our best England t20 players can have a free week and end up smashing division two about for a laugh?

Still say franchises are the future, England once again dropping behind the 8 ball.

Bring in transfers and fees :) if they are playing for England then the chances of them (over time) being at a div2/3/4 club is slim

Yay, 2 divisions!

Can you imagine 2 bottom of the table div 2 sides playing each other? If not go and watch a local side playing a midweek hit and giggle and you'll get a good idea...

Is that any different to watching the bottom two teams now ?

Interesting question, possibly or possibly not.
If there are 2 divisions the better players will likely go to a div 1 side, in persist of a better standard of cricket/chance of ibrlternational recognition etc.
Having 2 divisions could possibly end up making the 2nd division even weaker than the current bottom clubs currently are.

Potentially, potentially they'll raise their game to not be in div 2?? maybe div 2 will become meaningful rather than half the teams currently playing pointless games they know they can't win

Imagine if they allowed transfers, small clubs could produce players and sell for profit to keep them afloat rather than lose them for free (Leicestershire had broad, Taylor as an example). Then, due to the tv financials, promotion to div 1 brought riches.. Suddenly winning div 2 and being relegated from div 1 are mega.. Meaning more meaningful games.. Then in div 2, if you come bottom you fall out completely.. So you can't just not bother even at the bottom of div 2
