Preparations
« on: March 14, 2016, 11:27:22 AM »

Not long until the season starts and I am feeling fairly under cooked. I'm doing indoor nets keeping to a bowling machine with a batsman in front of me. I really want to get outside and take some catches off the edge etc but it is still not getting above 8C here and the grass is soaked. I imagine it is a bit nicer down south but what are others doing to get ready?

Not much better down south either, indoor nets keeping and taking little edges standing up to a stump fed through a thrower and a katchet board. At home just get hands going with a tennis ball off the walls but I tend not to practise too much prior to a season as I have Cadbury fingers these days

Stumping in indoor cricket.

Not that I'm any good, but feel better now than I did just a free Xmas.

I am not standing up to anything I wouldn't in a game. I have a self preservation wish! Sod's law I will get a knock from a slow spinner the week before the season starts.

This is great keeping training with Stewie and Ben Foakes.

I especially like the use of bat shaped cardboard taped onto a middling bat to simulate edges

Absolutely nothing. Pre-season friendlies will be the first time I put the gloves back on since last season.

No club stuff (too low a level - not the highest level of commitment). Just started a bit of training at home with the rebound nets. Trying to work on the basics and getting my leg strength back again. 15 minutes constant crouching in front of the rebound net makes my thighs burn.

I decided to start a 30 day squat challenge to help my leg muscles for the season
Other than that will probably not do much until the season
