Starting to get properly into cricket again, and I've been given a team-mate's basic old bat to play around with (I'm pretty new to proper bat care). I decided to remove the toe guard tonight and apply some shoe goo instead, but I've found a crack spreading across just under the face from the toe. It doesn't look too bad, but I want to get an opinion from you amazing people on how to proceed before doing anything further. It feels a little springy and I can press it in about half a mm.

It doesn't look serious. If I have a bat with a spongy toe I inject glue into it using a needle and syringe. This works really well to resolidify the toe.
Just a suggestion. No doubt other people have different ideas.

Nothing to worry about just seal the  crack to keep out moisture as James as suggested
