the 6 winter months in US I have to spend alot of time indoors I put the ball on the floor a few feet in front of me and just practice reaching the ball.. staying in that pose for about 5 secs muscle memory also helps..

Pre season all i do is work on the 3 front foot moments and 3 back moments use chalk and draw 3 feet in front of you and 3 back then introduce a wall and throw the ball against the wall and move accordingly

Footwork is my main problem and i have worked harder at it for over 20 years now! I try to stay bouncy between deliveries and when at the non-strikers end! I used to have a trigger movement with a tiny step forward. but now remain perfectly still so I now only move my feet for each shot rather than 2 or sometimes 3 movements before i play a shot......seems to be working for me!
