I tend to wear mine round the house like slippers (with the spikes removed, obviously) for a few days when I first get a new pair of spikes.
I (virtually) always buy Asics and don't have a problem with them rubbing, but I like to get used to the feel of them on my feet before playing a game in them.

Wore my new asics advance 6 last weekend and were great from the get go, previous SL22's gave me black toes on both feet so hoping that doesn't occur this year as its not s good look with the flip flops!
