Is this really anything new. Doesn't SS make spartan bats as well? Has anyone every used one of his bats (specs) and what is the weight that he uses.

Also, why do a lot of pros go for ss made bats?

A Spartan that's just a stickered up SS, is there any other kind? 

As for why a lot of pro's go for SS made bats, that's a pretty simple answer actually - Because they make bloody good bats!

I can certainly attest to that, the pro ones especially are very good. That said there are a hell of a lot of great batmakers. So whilst the quality is obviously a major factor, it isn't the only one. Quite a few of the other Spartan stable from past and present use more artisanal makers.

Pros use ss bats as that's probably what they are given and the majority couldn't care less

It's a known fact but that pic is good find
Ss does make great bats and lot of pro players use them
Even off the shelf top grade ss bats perform great.
Ss maximus , gladiator , ton reserve edition - you can pick any of these and you will get a performing bat.

Even the lower end models I have perform great. The SS blast I have goes like a gun

I think I read somewhere the weight he used is 1210 gms., exactly the weight and shape I had of my Gladiator which is special (and was told was from a batch of bats made for Indian player's world cup tour at that time. If the one I have is so good I can just imagine what pros selected bats would be like.

I think until recently all SS bats have the same shape and profiles. Not sure what's the point of having so many different models when Willow could be graded into 4 to 6 classes.
