Played against a few from the glos women's team in Sunday friendlies snd they are poor. Northants ones were about the same. I can only assume the standards are low if these are playing 'county' cricket.

I'd except players like Taylor, Edwards and brunt who are several levels above any other female

County cricket is a bit different in the women's game as there are no minor counties as such, so there are 30 odd counties involved.  Only the top 2 divisions will have any real quality and most of that is concentrated in Division 1.  Northants and Gloucester are both in division 3 to put it in perspective.

Interesting to note that the Chinese ladies team is stronger than the men's, the exception being one guy who played in Lincolnshire leagues a couple of years ago. The two women here have both captained respective countries China and Scotland.

Played against current England ladies batter a few times when I was living and playing in Kent, can't recall name but probably only a handful of times mainly on Sundays

Just to follow up on this. We turned up at Louth CC to play their seconds yesterday and not only did they have Arran Brindle but also Charlotte Edwards and Suzie Bates. There was a lady umpire too.

Nope. All out for 150 (I got 35) and they knocked them off for 3. I did catch Charlotte Edwards out for a golden with a sharp take at slip.

Talking of Edwards... She's come out and started spelling the beans.. Basically to sum up.. She's said the other players aren't good enough which I think is pretty obvious.

There's quite a few ladies and girls that play in the lower divisions of our leagues. There not professionals, just enthusiasts.

There's also an "all ladies" anston team in our Sunday league. Amusingly as its not an all woman's league. They usually have 9 woman and 2 blokes every Sunday.

1 week the oppo reported them to the league, as they had them 56 for 9, and 10 and 11 were the clubs two male pros, and they finished the innings in the 300's. League obvioudly did nothing. Lol.

As for us, the oppo signed then Pakistan woman's captain urooj Khan a few seasons back, and the league declared she could only play for the firsts, she had a decent season with ball (30 odd wickets) and about 300 runs with bat.
It was very much her level. And she played well in both games against us.
