Aussie Winter Refurbs
« on: June 04, 2016, 12:48:44 AM »

Hi everyone, seen the ever so popular winter bat refurb thread so thought i might just show off some of my work.

Been doing it for team mates for a few years after seeing some techniques on this forum (longtime viewer, recently joined)

any extra feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Sanded with  random orbital sander in varying grits from 80- 1500 and then finished with a special polishing compound which a local bat maker got me on to.

any extra feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks mate, I dont want to reveal the compound just yet as i am unsure if the bat maker would like me telling his secrets. I can say it is commercially available, not some home made concoction

EDIT** I have asked his permission

@Australian fast bowler are you Brisbane bat repairs? Seem to remember a YouTube video where the set up and towel round handle was very similar to the set up pictured

Update!!**

Asked the bat maker and he was happy for me to share. Many on this forum who have made bats would probably know the product

The compound is called HYFIN

nice work, what is in the special compound?
