August Tour To Sheffield - HELP
« on: July 01, 2016, 01:25:56 PM »

Hi guys,

Normally I organise Ketton cricket tours, and we've had some great times in recent years; Newcastle, Leeds, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Brighton amongst others.

This year i (foolishly) left it to another club member to organise a tour to Sheffield, which is his home city. I managed to get a game on August 1st with @smilley792 's team, and left the other club member to arrange accommodation and fixtures on August 2nd and 3rd. Since then a few months have passed and no progress. A little frustrating to say the least!

If anyone in the Sheffield area (we have cars so can travel) can help with a fixture on the 2nd or 3rd of August, please let me know ASAP. We would prefer games in the day, but would consider evening T20 too. We can accommodate/adapt to virtually any standard, and whilst we would like a good game we are really there for some fun and some beers, we will certainly top up the till in your bar!

message me on the forum or email jake@vitascricket.co.uk if you can assist.

Try Chesterfield who play on the Derbyshire outground and have teams from Derbyshire prem to Sunday village or Chesterfield barbarians who are more relaxed although a word of warning about barbs they're changing facilities are poor (portacabin with tiny rooms) they about half an hour from Chesterfield and both are on Twitter for a contact point, I'll pm you if I can find the details of the barbarians chairman still (my old club) if you would like?

I'm in Sheffield and have made quite a few contacts around including committee members within the SYSCL, please let me have some details about the standard you want to play against and I'll try a few clubs.

Any preference where abouts you'd like to play?

Many thanks for the messages guys. Will be a mix of regular first team cricketers playing 1 league below ECB prem level right through to no rounders who can barely hold a beer let alone a bat. But we usually work out the standard required quite quickly and adapt ourselves upwards or downwards, so we are open to anything :)
