Hunts County Aura LPZ 650
« on: August 08, 2016, 10:31:37 PM »

Evening all

I thought I'd do a quick review of yet another bat I've picked up recently, this time an off the shelf Hunts County Aura LPZ 650.
A huge thanks to @wayward_hayward for kindly purchasing this and posting it to me (I believe it came from Intersport, but I'm not certain).

The bat itself is the entry level Aura, so does not have chrome stickers, but has the same striking colour scheme that drew me to this range.
There are 6 straight even grains, with one blemish in the hitting area. I think it's a lovely looking bit of willow, but some may be put off by the cosmetic imperfection.

This is a traditional shape, with small(ish) edges and a high spine. There is also minimal concaving, so there is plenty of wood where you need it. The spine runs into the handle (almost Screaming Cat esque) which is a lovely thick oval.
I have applied half a snake grip and a chevron, and oiled the bat. It still needs to be knocked in and to have a scuff sheet applied. I have tapped it up and the response seems good, and the sound the ball makes lets you know it will be a pinger!

I haven't done a pint test or tried to measure the middle yet, and being 11.30pm I best not start doing that now!

The vital stats
Weight: 2lb10.1250z
Edge peak: 31mm
Edge at shoulder:12m
Edge at toe: 20mm
Toe thickest point: 26.5mm
Peak spine height: 60.5mm
