Need suggestions/inspiration folks!
« on: February 22, 2017, 01:17:12 PM »

Ok, so I've got one b3 and I'm hungry for more. I've manage to persuade the wife that as part of our holiday and as my 40th birthday present, we take a trip to b3 in June. My quandary is what to get. I love the 2lb6 db3 I have and I'm tempted by a twin, but I like the idea of something a little different, or maybe designing my own.

So, if anyone has a light (2.6_2.7) mid or mid-low middle bat from them, what is it? Just looking for inspiration. :)

My observation is the weight depends on what your prepared to pay. My 3 stripe bespoke was 2 oz lighter than the grade 3 net bat. match bat was 2.78 naked now 2.87 scuffed and toe guard applied. DB3 is a low middle. if you can fork out for a 3 stripe the B3 guys will find the right cleft to turn dreams to reality.

btw love my 2.95 Beluga that feels like my scuffed match bat this may be a consideration as it picks up like its 2.85 and has plenty to offer down low. Root shape is also a shape to consider.

Try the Shan Masood. Just got one for my son it weighs in at just under 2.9 and picks up as light as a feather. See the post in the bat section for pics.

I think they struggle to get the root shape to that weight. That's why we opted for the Shan masood shape.

I agree, however streaky clearly worked magic with my db3. 1 stripe and only 2lb6.4! So there are lower grade light clefts about. I like the look of the root profile, also the gaz cross. They also had a video out with bat 1001 in it. That looks niiiiiice!

With a crown willow you can get a lot of wood with a 2.6 weight or 2.7
