Morning all,
I know there has been alot of interest in the GM refurbishment service. I recently sent off one of my GMs to them for a full factory refurb.
The bat itself had been used for about half a season last year. The issue I had with GM is that they all come out so incredibly hard pressed. Even now, after half a season, various nets, throw downs and further knocking in, this bat is just about coming into it's own. I for one think this is very strange - especially as this bat was a G&M professional players bat and he had been to the factory to pick it out.
It was a 2013 model, with the older stickers. Had a few dents, marks etc. No damage but had been used.
This is how it looked before (Apologies. Pictures came off of an iPhone);
This is how it came back...;
The serviceThe service I received from GM was very good, but a little expensive (£45) IMO. However, when you factor in the cost of grip, facing, toe guard, new 2014 embossed stickers and shipping - as well as the sand and preparation process, you can begin to see why.
My one major criticism was getting in touch with anyone who knew about refurbishment and the costs of said refurbishment. I had to dig out an old email from Steve Wilkinson just so I knew I would get a reply from someone who knew something about the bats.
OverallI am very impressed. IMHO, the bat looks as good as new again and is ready to go whenever I need it - though being completely honest, if I change my mind, this will end up on eBay as well!
Woodstock comes tomorrow!!
Thanks all!
