Long shot - does anyone know of anyone selling a bat press. I am not new to this and understand that they're not an easy machine to come by. Rather than just buy from India though I thought Id try posting on here first and see if anyone did have one that they had stopped using (i.e.: no longer making bats because they had retired / changed direction). I have been pressing on various peoples presses over the last couple of years but have some willow and would prefer to be able to press my own from now on rather than relying on other people. If nothing comes up on here I'll buy one from India - does anyone have any advice on that / useful contacts / ball park figure on possible price. Are there any importing difficulties ? I know of one company that sells them in India (GAMA) and also know of the Bolza company in Pakistan (although they don't have a great reputation). Advice would be very welcome !

Im UK based - been making bats a few years now but without my own press. That wasn't an immediate need but the longer Im making the more I think Id be better off owning one. Spoke to one of the links I provided - a company called smart technologies. They claim they make the GAMA machines but were quite cagey when I questioned them about several things. They said they couldn't provide a single phase machine only 3 phase or one without a motor. They also claimed single phase wouldn't allow the machine to go in forward and reverse but Im not sure how true this is.......Im no expert in motors. I had it in mind that GAMA do provide a single phase machine.

You'll need 3 phase motor to run forward and reverse but this is easily done by wiring in an inverter to control it.
The inverter takes standard single phase and puts out 230v 3 phase so the motor will have to be dual voltage.
