It is indeed an Aldred @ppccopener , the old silver sovereign shape with spine to the toe. Superb shape in fact, very forgiving middle.

Did this to my bat last night.

One of the old blokes has taken it away to see what he can do 😐

I have fixed many of such broken ones. Dilute PVA glue using water (approximately 75%glue and 25% water) to decrease its thickness. Buy a plastic syringe with a thick needle and fill it with your diluted glue. Open the crack using a thin knife so that the glue could reach all of the broken area. Inject the glue using the syringe. Take a packaging tape and wrap it very tightly to close the crack (let the glue ooze out of the crack). Leave it for 48 hrs and take off the tape. Sand the extra glue off and apply a new, good quality scuff sheet. The bat will be ready to go again!

Fingers crossed my mate can fix it, I haven't bought a new bat in years and the thought of paying some of the prices that are out there was not an appealing option
