I know we - mostly - all want as big a bat as possible for the weight, and some are even prepared to go way over their usual weight for a big bat if the balance is right but are people really so obsessed over it that 1-2mm makes the difference.
I have lost count of the times on here I've seen someone looking for a bat and the edges have to be at least 52mm, 25mm at the toe, 17mm at the shoulder etc. Does anyone really pick up a bat, have a hit with a mallet and then think, nah, edges are only 51mm, not having that?
I think I like a big bat as much as the next guy, but I'm not sure I've ever even measured the edges of my bats, nevermind ordered a new ones based on it. Is it just because we can?
