I'm sure there will be differing opinions on the forum about this article.....and rightly so of course.....I think it's a very honest read from a player not quite good enough at top level(Compton not Jennings) .whether Jennings can be remains to be seen

But there may be some mental tips that may help us ameteurs...personally despite the fact I've spent ages trying to correct technical faults(and still am) how you think about batting is just as important, how you bounce back and keep a positive mind when things get tough

I liked nick Compton as a player for England, like many others recently below the standard needed but not by much.

If he put into practice his own words in the article 4 years ago, would he of been more successful? We won't know and that's sport !

I read some of the comments on the BBC site. Loads of people were, IMHO, misunderstanding when he wrote about there being more to worry about than scoring runs. Multiple people were commenting that scoring runs was the be all and end all as a batsman, whereas I think Nick was taking a wider view referencing life in general rather than just batting. After all, he was close to Phillip Hughes and lived with him during Hughes' sting at Middlesex in 2009.
