Bat Repairs
« on: March 08, 2017, 07:10:23 PM »

Anyone recommend anywhere in South Yorkshire for repairs? My lads bat has some feathering of the toe that is starting to split also a few other minor bits that could be sorted with a general refurb.

Get down B&Q (other hardware stores are available) and get yourself a few bits (PVA wood glue, super glue, white spirit and some sandpaper) and give it a go yourself  :)

I've spent far too much time "on the internet"...
By BBC I assume you mean British Broadcasting Company as opposed to Big B... :-[

I like to think of it as unpaid voluntary work rather than a hobby...

Ahem, back onto the subject in hand!

Find that a light sanding to remove the feathering and then seal the toe with Ronseal boat vanish.

...and of course you could be completely impractical and unable to put a nail in a plank of wood like some on here - and therefore, you may wish to have your original question answered.

Jedi may be a good shout, as would Nixon - a good one to ask would be @Ryan  on here (Kelsall Cricket) - excellent batmaker and all round jolly good fellow.

Nixon are charging a very reasonable £25 for a refurb but may be a bit further away than you're wanting to travel as its in North Yorkshire?

B3 will also do a bat MOT if you don't mind the short drive to Nottingham
