Scoring Apps/Computer scoring
« on: March 23, 2017, 11:21:26 AM »

Heyup Guys,
My club is finally looking to join the 21st century and invest in computerised scoring. Just wondered if anyone had any advise on the best softwear/apps. Obviously there is Total Cricket Scorer(which is a tad pricey) out there but I know Play-cricket(what our league uses for scorecards) has just brought its own app out.
Any advice would be great.

Theres already a thread about this.

TCS - no play cricket functionality apparently
Play Cricket App - seems easy enough to use.

Don't think the app has gone live yet. Got an email from ecb a few weeks ago saying it goes live first week of Apri and how it works etc.

Have been using an iPad app called NXCricket for a couple of seasons now. Works really well!

TCS is now free and provided links with the CricHQ system, this also is a powerful scoring system that can collect almost all the stats someone could wish for.

The play cricket scorer does the basics, is free and auto uploads to Play-cricket.

Depends what you are after i guess

Cricket Australia launched 'MyCricket' probably about a decade ago for the entering of scores after the fact. Something huge like 98% of organised cricket uses this website.
A couple of years ago, maybe three or four they launched a scoring app for iPad and more recently for iPhone and Android devices as well.

It has really good functionality and even syncs in real time, so if you are playing away, and a mate in another team is playing at home, you can check in on their 'live score'.

I've seen a couple of other scoring apps, but don't have the same functionality.

Cheers guys.
For as much as me & some of the lads would like the all singing and dancing software. Think the club is in a position at the minute were we just need something to do the job & the fact we have to use play cricket for scorecards and this offers seamless integration means I think we will end up with the freebie.
