Kiddies lid
« on: May 18, 2017, 01:01:48 PM »

Hi All,

My 7 yr old has his first every match tomorrow night, making up the numbers for the u/9's.  He needs some kit and first on the list is a lid!  He seems so small - I was after thoughts on the best fitting kids helmet please?

Cheers!

Children are a multitude of shapes and sizes. Theres no such thing as the best fitting kids helmet, the best helmet for your child is the specific one that fits them the best.

The best way to work this out is to go to a retailer and try as many on as possible. I've had adults unable to wear anything bigger than the larger childrens sizes, and last week a nine year old who was a large mens.

Cheers Vitas - helpful as always!

Do all brands go as small as 7yr old? Or which can I discount right from the off?

Cheers again

In Australia the most popular helmet we sell for that age would be a kooka helmet with an adjustable dial on it, not sure though if they are stocked over in the UK.

Was does 7 year old mean though? The sizing is done on head size, measured as a circumference just above the ears. My experience is the smallest junior sized masuri legacy is about as small as it gets.

We don't stock kookaburra lids, so i can't comment on what skip has said.

We did a Junior helmet that catered for those that were pretty small, in head size @Aswani Cricket took stock of them and has them listed on eBay currently at around £20 (were £45).
