Come again?!

Have you actually used this in games @Buzz ?

If we are supposed to 'buy into' these compliant helmets, for our safety shouldnt we only be selling ones that are up to standard. Same as a new home, you wont see any sockets at ground level... Just merely starting a debate, which is what forums are for. At least thats what i thought...

Ha no problem on the debate mate, just wasn't sure what you were on about with electricians and plumbers and Buzz's modified lid! Don't know that anyone is selling non-compliant lids anymore?

After a morning with a rasp and hack saw plus a ti grille from another helmet... compliant now ish... it appears that those nice people at masuri have, after all, made one type of grille and grille mounting for all their lids, as I suspected:

And to remind everyone...

The lid now weighs 742g, so the double bar is fractionally (60g) more, I could take the padding off the ears, but not bothered...
The extra weight may be the swappa band rather than the foam I had previously too. (Marginal I know!)

Here is the other half with replacement screws in (the old one way safety screws got a little mangled by the rasp/hacksaw/screwdriver combo)

Thanks to Jake for the new helmet padding. Fits a treat now, had to trim the padding a little, but am happy.

Have used this in the nets a few times and am really pleased.

The main thing I was worried about was the visibility, but the gap isn't the issue I thought it might be and it is a very light lid.

Yet another update to this, it is great to wear, I have now used it in three games.
I have also managed to pick up a stem guard on ebay for £20...

£20 stemguard? Bargain.

Also, top work organising your foam, felt and tissue. Must get around to organising mine.

However, far too much naked feet action going on. Room for improvement.
