Impala Sports - Bamboo Tech
« on: July 25, 2017, 06:12:39 PM »

Just seen this for the first time, bamboo rods inserted through the bat to apparently aid ping.... Anybody tried one? How do they perform?

No idea how they perform, but seeing as the contravene the laws you might as well be using rubber inserts

Thought the law was the bat had to be made of wood? Surely This doesn't contravene that?

Bamboo is a type of grass, not wood.

on their Instagram they also seem to have one with the bamboo going vertical from the toe up into he blade. Might not be legal but its different.... I guess its a similar principle to the turbo hole that hunts do.

I am sure more bat manufactured must be taking out wood in the middle of the bat this way...

1 piece of wood though. No inserts allowed for it to be a Type A

Type B & C allow minimal inserts in edges and toe to prevent damage

What's the cost on it? Like $1000.00 plus shipping?

Yep.
Ive seen them in the flesh and they go well , and ive always liked the bats Robin makes ( although they are too pricey i.mo ) . It took a lot for me to say that as he's played at two clubs I've been at ...... and i don't like the guy .

although i don't  know whether these bamboo inserts can make a bat pingier , most impalas ive come across are pingy .
for me , these inserts are more attractive in terms of their weight saving potential.
ive contemplated buying one .... but i couldn't get past the price and who's pocket I'd ultimately be lining/whos company I'd be supporting.
