First time posting with imgur so hopefully this works.
So in my mind if there was an award for most improved brand it would have to be GM. Loving this years ranges, shapes, colours etc but most of all how well GM bats are now performing early on.
Been using a GM Chrome since June and it's stunning mid profile with a huge middle (just ordered another) and also really like the signature range which is G2 but all I have seen have been really pleasing on the eye as well.
Any way Pro Direct had a sale the other day and has these GM Neon bats at 50% off making this £73 so grabbed the opportunity
Chose a light option which can be a debatable in my experience with PDC and this is 2.10 bang on so not exactly light but only 1oz heavier than my 3 other current match bats that are all bang on 2.9 so overall happy with weight.
Looks wise again pretty happy with 11 tight and fairly straight grains and some marble effect markings towards the toe along with small heartwood strip. Minimal concaving and a slightly square toe with duckbill profile which I really like espically the square toe shape feels really nice in my stance. Pick up is decent along with the size, 38mm edges 22mm shoulder and 25mm toe and that's one of my favourite aspects of GM and always has been how big shoulders and toes of the bats are which certainly in my experience is the places I see most damage espically facing the new ball.
This is the first ever shorter blade I have owned and I must say it's minimal being 15mm shorter and for a shortish bloke it's even less noticeable. Tapping up and old ball again I'm not dissapointed as really does ping, like my Chrome this will get an hour or so mallet work on edges and toe and then a few net sessions before getting a run out but overall really pleased.
