Question...how can a spinner who normally bowls quick and flat, slow things down and flight the ball without losing the length. I am a left arm spinner and I have been struggling this season trying to flight deliveries as I end up pitching it up to the batsmen and they just hit thru the line. Whats the best way to make that adjustment? Any tips?

a few things that have helped me with this issue..

1. DO NOT bowl "slower".. your arm speed, shoulder rotation, etc ALL HAVE TO BE AS FAST AS NORMAL.. this is key to preventing lobbed up full tosses, and is key to getting drift and dip (without which, you may as well not bother flighting the ball)
2. Try landing front foot, with the heel first, and then lift your toe up, to spend more time on your front foot. THIS is what will lead to the addditional flight, and if you are still using your normal/fast shoulder rotation, you will see the ball dip. Ashely Mallet talks about this here, and this really helped me get more flight: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mQXZfBSBo0&t=267s
3. Spin the ball hard

The cues I say to myself are: 1. heel first, then spend time on toe.. and 2. "bowl fast" - using shoulder rotation... sounds a bit contradictory but the combination of the two is quite deadly.

Good luck.

Sounds to me like you should be happy with those figures @Woodyspin . You went for fewer than 5 per, in context that basically means an average of 1 bad ball per over. Bowling at 2 decent batters that's a pretty good return. Shame you didn't get one of them out, 1 wicket can often bring a spinner another couple. Next time you'll likely bowl worse and take 4-fer!

Nice job, best of luck this weekend. Dunno where you are, but over here we had about 2 inches of rain yesterday so the groundsman is facing an uphill battle!

Cheers mate yeah still happy and did drag a couple down/bit of poor fielding.

Down in Sussex and we had 2 months of rain in 1 day! Hoping the oppo had some covers on! And hoping i dont get too excited if i come on and just bowl within myself, keeping it tight as i did on Sunday. Had our opener in my ear too so might get him to stand at mid off again Saturday

No mate, if you're on the main pitch I'm pretty sure they do have covers.
