DIY Bat Refurb
« on: August 14, 2017, 12:25:36 PM »

In a fit of off-season boredom, I decided to clean up my bats for the upcoming season. Having bought a electric sander it made the process far simpler. See below photos of before, during and after!

All up pretty happy given this was my first attempt. Probably need a bit more fine sanding to get them really nice and smooth but otherwise job is a good'un!

Can't third party host on photocuket. They've destroyed there business.

We need to find a decent phot uploader.

I closed/deleted my photobucket account as soon as they did it.

I generally use imgur anyway.

Went with imgur, so hopefully that has done the trick! Ridiculous stuff from Photobucket!

^ Looks great! Did you weight the bats before and after the sanding? How much weight did the bats lose? Or, gain (due to oiling or stickers)?

I did. With everything on they weighed about 2lb 11oz. Completely naked (no stickers, scuff, grips, etc) they weighed in at roughly 2lb 7oz, one was 0.1 oz heavier than the other.

Indeed - that is the work of a Legend. A coat of oil would be good.
