I am, the 1500 was very nice in the nets (so definitely keeping that) but I do also have a 2000, and there are so many other bats out there I really ought to try ;-)

In my opinion the theory of the XP80 having a weak toe was dispelled in last Sundays nets.

Highest run scorer in our Division used xp80 this season. We have low bouncing wickets here in Southern California & during a match against him i bowled him 3-4 yorkers which he blocked without any damage to the toe. Willow being a natural product not all bats are same so few ppl might suffered toe damaged either by a mistimed shot or during the knocking. I got couple xp80 myself and never found the toe weak. Sadly it is not being made anymore. One of the best pinging bats i have.

Initial sales were low, then word got out & they went very quickly , along with the 50plus they will be always be sought after , game changing bats for those who can use them.

Gentlemen, my comment(s) about the toe were _not_ about it susceptibility to damage by yorkers. My gripe was that the toe area was dead and I wasn't getting any value out of shots against full/yorker deliveries. Now, I do have another (match) bat that just pings marvelously low down. The toe area of my XP-80 has held up fine against yorkers but it is just _dead_ ! No life.

Don't get me wrong, if bats were cars,  XP-80 is a Ferrari! :D

PS: If anyone wants to sell their 2-12/2-13 XP-80, do let me know. I will chop off its toe and it will be so nice. :D

Yes definitely, but it's not as oval as the bottom hand. Legend/XXX-11 is more oval at the top hand and even thinner than the already thin handle on the XP80.

I sorta agree with you on the lack of power near the toe area on the XP80. When I got my hands on mine, I was just waving it around and did a tap on the concrete floor. The sound the bat made against the hard floor was unlike any other bat. It seemed the bat was pressed as a rock near the very bottom.  But after knocking it in and playing a few matches the response in the bottom half of the bat is similar to other bats I have, so yeah it definitely got better and doesn't make that awful sound.

If you were lucky enough to grab one of the initial velocity xl2000  you got a bat based on an xp80 but with a thicker shoulder ,  blade & toe ,the toe is square ,  the middle is longer & the bat weight is the same

There are at least two in the UK. The guy that bought the XL 1500 from me (is going to give a write-up soon he says) has also played against someone with another.
