Looks like a bit of PVA applied, can’t see much more of a repair?

I’m no expert, but how can damage at the base of the spine like this possibly be successfully repaired?  Surely, the only eventual outcome is the crack continuing to split across the blade?

I’ve seen topics on the forum about bats splitting and sometimes snapping in two in this area because of the handle been spliced too tightly.  In this instance, surely the large knot right at the base of the splice won’t help??

I would be surprised if the handle was too tight in the splice for 2 reasons.
1. The factory have a jig set specifically to cut the exact splice and handle size/shape/angle
2. If the splice was too tight I would expect it to crack along the grain not across it.

I imagine it has more to do with the knot.

I’ve not ever really bought into the “graded on performance” that Kippax advocate

That said the reviews are great and multiple international cricketers cannot be wrong

However quality control at their price must be king - how a splice into a truly awful knot slipped passed eager eyes I do not know.

Hiding knots under stickers doesn’t seem to fit the high price high quality image of the relaunched brand

Sometimes it’s best to just replace and apologise.

If that was a 50quid Sports Direct Slazenger, I'd ask for a replacement or my money back.

Just because it has been repaired and it might perform like a 300quid bat should, personally I don't see why the replacement or money back logic should change.

I'm sure this one has slipped through the net and Kippax will sort you out.

sorry for the late reply been away for a week as to this bat, it was a 3 year old bat that was returned for repair the  split i would say has nothing to do with the knot just where and tear. you sent it back for repair and we did the repair and put new stickers on with return postage all for free! as for the crack in the toe its probably appeared when we was cleaning your bat up and we would of missed it really easy fix there no possible way we have caused that crack if you have a issue i would rather you just give us a ring to sort the problem or give me your number and i will give you a call to fix your issue

bat returned almost blank but with one little sticker on the face that dates back to stickers from close to 3 years ago we fixed the split full refurb and brand new 2018 stickers on that the customer did not request and had it returned to him within 3 days all free of charge!

This thread should be renamed "how to withhold critical details and make yourself look a bellend"...

All comments on this thread have been based on it being a new bat certainly not one 3 years old.
