New bat
« on: February 19, 2010, 01:51:25 PM »

Hi ,
I have got a nice new bat, but it does feel a little heavy.
I was thinking that it might feel about half a ound lighter. The toe and the shoulders do look like they have a lot of wood in them and that it might be possible for me to just shave a bit off the bat there.
I tend to use a 2 9 and this is just over 2 10 so it does not need much.
I was wondering what people on here think.
it is an Indian bat and a bit bottomie anyway, but has a lot of wood on it. I was thinking that i probably wouldn't ruin the balance on it.

Also, i was thinking what are they weigths on the Areo/ Lekka grips compared to the more standard grips?

try putting a extra grip on it to improve the balance and pick-up. It you still want to get it shaved off, take it to any batmaker and they may be able to take some wood from the toe are or give it a bit more concaving to improve balance and pick-up.

It is never easy to readjust the weight distribution on a finished bat.

Best is to take to a batmaker and he will tell you whether weight can be take off the toe or not etc. etc...
