Why would the materials used bump up the price if they all provide the same (or needed) level of protection? Is it that some materials are lighter whilst providing the same level of protection?
Can you provide your input to the quality/protection provided for the Newbery Triumph pads and gloves (links two posts above)?

It's not they provide the same level of protection, it's the mid-range ones provide more than adequate protection for most levels of club player.
The top end ones might be a bit lighter, potentially, but chances are they just provide even higher level protection, which is probably unnecessary, unless you're planning on getting pinged in the shin by Mitchell Starc any time soon?
