Peak Sports Phantom OZ Limited Edition - Any experiences?
« on: March 29, 2018, 10:54:19 AM »

Hello all.

I'm a new member here.
I play for a village team in Buckinghamshire as an opening batsman.
I have been using a 3 lb SS R7 for three full seasons, so I am looking at a backup bat.

I came across an older Peak Sports Phantom OZ Limited Edition bat online, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it in terms of grade / performance. It looks decent, toe is a bit dirty. I am planning to get an older bat like this, sand it all down, new stickers, grip and toe put on. I want to keep the cost way down (get the bat for under £40-£50 mark) as there are a few options on Gumtree.

So, any experiences, alternatives / do's and don'ts shared are welcome.

Best regards

Not sure where Peak Sports have had their bats made over the years but there was a period where they were selling absolute crackers. They then changed bat maker and weren’t anywhere near as good after that. Do you have a link/ photos?

That is what I was thinking. And the guy selling it has told me he'd get me some close up shots of the toe this evening. He has listed it as Grade A. Not sure if it is true.

Here is the link, for reference:

It’s PS’s top grade anyway.

The postage itself is coming up to £14! Wondering if there are cheaper services available.
