initials in black ink on shoulder of bat..
« on: September 13, 2018, 11:04:40 AM »

just got an Ebay bargain as every other bat I seem to have has broken split or gone dead.....and it's got the old owners initials on the shoulders(both) in deep black ink

now it doesn't overly bother me but what's the best way to get them off without destroying the shoulders?

and no..I can't amend them to have my own on their   :)

its a decent bat...GM they really are making some good bats these days....why do people put initials on shoulders of bats, it's a bit village no?

Identification in case the bat is stolen  if you ask some bat makers will stamp your name into edge of the bat
remove with white spirit or a light sanding

I'm currently in possession of a pro issue Hawk. (It belongs to a teammate, I've been asked to do a couple of little bits to it)
The previous owner is an Arsenal fan, and has written 7 on one shoulder and Pires on the other in blue felt tip.
He did this so he knew which bat was which.

Village or pro? ;)

I've seen very very good pros write their top scores on the shoulder of their bats, agree it ruins the look!

I hard stamp the letter F (first letter of my name) on the shoulder of my bat similar to how theyr punched onto kookas and GNs in order to identify them among crowd
