GM Chrome thoughts / reviews
« on: January 03, 2018, 11:49:26 AM »

Hi Nerd-chums,

Has anyone got thoughts / experiences on the GM chrome shape?  I'm wondering how they pick-up, how the balance is?

Anyone care to share their experiences of one they have actually used in anger?

Brucey,

I used a Chrome Signature all of last season, lovely pick-up and very forgiving. Went like a rocket too which always helps!

Funnily enough the 'Orange' profile is rather similar... *cough*

I got a Chrome Signiture recently to use as a 2nd bat/net bat and for the money it feels great in the couple of nets I've used it in. Compared to other bats I've seen and the H4L Warbird G1 I've now got, it's great value when considering the performance. Not the biggest bat but picks up nice, although when I put a GM ripple grip on the handle did seem way too chunky.

It is a great grip though!

Using a GM chrome i got from SD and loving it. It is 2-11 but picks very light. I was so impressed with it that i bought another Chrome in Original grade. I think Sports Direct still has the cheap players model on sale but i will recommend 909 or higher grade.

I agree but just made the handle really chunky. I think the handle is slightly thicker than my other bats anyway, but they've also probably got cheaper/thinner grips too.

Considering the name - no wear near enough brightwork on those bats. :-)

@FattusCattus I used a GM Chrome as my 2017 match bat and was a great bat, pick up is fantastic very long middle and big with a round face so very very good overall shape and pressing on last years GM bats in my experience is excellent, I have 3 2017 model GM's and all are very very good

Have heard a lot about the pressing of the 2017 2018 bats

Seems positive however do they take longer to open up  than other competitors .

How long can it take for a bat to open up ?

I used mine pretty much straight out the packet against the new ball yesterday. Seemed absolutely fine, not firm at all!
