GM Archive Books of Cricket
« on: November 09, 2018, 12:36:28 PM »

Hi folks, thought you might be interested in Something For The Weekend, Sir!
https://www.playwiththebest.com/archive-literature/the-gm-books-of-cricket.html

We have started uploading old catalogues - it is quite a rich vein of history.

Kind regards

Edward

Great resource. Just had a quick browse through the 1990 catalogue and it seems you can buy right and left handed bats.

I'm surprised the Mike Gatting collection wasn't just an elasticated waist option.

Ah memories... those GM Maestro stickers...  :)

I'd rock them on my bats now although I love the new design.

GM introduced a new bat called the Striker when Gatting joined, if memory serves?

Bruce French is unrecognisable!

Still think a vintage range with 80's stickers would go down well

Bruce French looks younger now than when he was playing!

I spoke to him at The Oval in the summer. He was telling me how highly he rated Ben Foakes.  :D

Thanks for sharing these. Fascinating to see how things have developed, particularly softs. Look forward to more being added in time.

The “club bag” took me back to school and village club days.

We definitely used to share kit far more even at a decent level, I’m trying to think about when I bought my first set of my own kit and a bag... and when clubs stopped buying those big bags and filling them with buckled pads and Duncan Fearnley Attacks
