Has anyone done this?
Have just bought a GM Kaha 404 and was wondering if anyone had oiled there bleached bat and the resulting colour

You can oil a bleached bat it won't harm it but keep in mind raw  linseed oil will darken the colour of the blade some  brands more  than others.
OWSAT cricket bat oil will  slightly darken the willow but leaves it lighter than other brands lve used.

If you want some colour back in the bat, sand it and oil it.

The idea that one brand of raw linseed oil stains a bat less than any other is nonsense.

If you think that has happened previously then I would suggest it is down to the natural variations in the willow.

The clue is in the name - RAW linseed oil

Be it GM, GN, Howzat or a 5 litre bottle from Toolstation (other hardware stores are available) you're buying the same stuff. The difference in colour is the natural variation in the wood, nothing to do with what brand of oil you apply.

Linseed is also called as Flax which is a rich source of Onega 3 fatty acids responsible for increasing HDL (good cholesterol). I guess no harm in dropping one spoon in your salad with olive oil 😜

What is the difference between flaxseed oil and linseed oil?

Both flaxseed oil and linseed oil are extracted from seeds of the plant Linum usitatissimu. Flaxseed oil is pure and fit for human consumption; linseed oil goes through a refinement process and may contain additives that improve its paint-cleaning properties. Never drink linseed oil. Instructions on flaxseed oil packages will indicate if it is drinkable.

If the above statement is true that Linseed oil goes through a refinement process can it still be described as Raw? For every answer there are 2 questions

Not exactly  owzsat  oil gives the willow a more natural look it could be because owzsat bat oil is not traditional bat oil it's a mix of poly material and linseed oil.
