Interesting to see you coming down the wicket before you've seen the length. As a spinner I'd be licking my lips when I saw that...

Can also help to knock a bowler off their lines too though. Depends on who, what when Etc

Funny you mention this, the bowler actually had an imaginary field set of:
Slip, point, extra cover, mid on, mid off, mid-wicket and a man on the 45, with a sweeper on the off and leg side.
That imaginary field did influence some of my shots as there was an "easy single" square on the leg side
This guy has bowled at you how often?
Have you ever played a sweep to the 45?
Mad skills.
Slip third man on one, gully maybe point instead

Square leg on one, midwicket on one
Midwicket boundary
Straighter midwicket boundary, about halfway between long on and midwicket, on the fence
Long on.
Someone else around floating on the leg side in an odd position, who you will pick out despite it not being a recognised position

@Buzz maybe he set that field as he doesn't know my game that well.

He's only been bowling to me regularly for the last 10 years or so...

I bowl straight, stump to stump darts and would have a 6-3 leg side setup with 3 boundary riders on leg side, squarish midwicket, long on and cow. 45, square leg and midwicket

Off side would be backward point, 3rd man on the 1, and cover.

Nice reverse sweep in the first vid. I admire your skill at running the ball down to the 3rd man boundary.

Hi Cam. Long time :D

Three things I would advise;

1. Bat off leg and open your stance a bit. You get SO far across from middle that If I were your mates, or the opposition, Id bowl around the wicket all day to you...
2. Elbow high when hitting straight. Keeps your shape that way and you are less likely to spoon something straight up or drag the shot across the line.
3. Head still at point of impact. A bit like a golfer, do not lift that head until the ball has been hit to keep the timing and control of the ball.

Also, at one point your mate says 'that cut shot is not always on'. I agree with him completely. Its a very high percentage shot. As you get so far across, it might be worth getting in line and working it into the leg side for a single. Less chance of getting out that way...

However, as I said, that's my advice. :D
